Straw, Honey, Butter

Domaine Patrick Vauvy, Sauvignon de Touraine, Loire, France, 2022
£17.50

100% Sauvignon Blanc - 13.5% abv.

This is a Sauvignon Blanc with a point of difference. The fruit undergoes a long ripening period, which produces a rich and full wine with lower acidity, not typical of the region. It is in direct contrast to our Earthsong Sauv Blanc from NZ, for those looking to explore left-of-centre winemaking.

Attractively aromatic, rich and dry, showing the fruit character of fully ripe grapes. Exotic fruits in abundance on the nose and just a hint of mint. On the palate, it’s fresh and tangy and the finish is fruity and moreish.

Cap Sentit, Garnacha Blanca, DO Catalunya, Spain, 2021
£18.00

100% Garnacha Blanca - 13% abv.

Elegant skin contact wine from the age old hills in the Catalan region, with an intense golden colour. This wine is the vision of winemaker Anna Rovira, who works closely with the local cooperative of fruit growers, to produce honest wines that reflect their continued dedication to the land and their art.

Made from 100% Garnacha Blanca grapes with an intense golden colour and amber reflections due to the time on skins; the nose is reminiscent of ripe peach, apricot and floral notes, whilst the palate displays the textural appeal of the variety, orchard fruit characters and perfectly poised acidity.

Mas Olivier, Faugeres Blanc, Languedoc Roussillon, France, 2022
£16.50

Roussanne 50% / Marsanne 30% / Others 20% - 13% abv

Unusual production of white grapes from this well-known appellation, usually for its reds. This is an expressive wine, with tropical and floral notes, with balanced acidity. Only a small allocation made it here, so make sure you snap up a bottle or two to enjoy.

Expressive notes of ripe melon, orange blossom and lively citrus. Harmonious, balanced and finishing with an appealing lick of acidity.

Bodega Toledo and Ajenjo GarageWines, Verdoncho, La Mancha, Spain, 2021
£23.00

100% Verdoncho - 11.5% abv.

This is wild in the true sense of the word. A lesser-known varietal and approx. 108 days of skin contact post fermentation, only scratches the surface with the limits cousins Jesús Angel Ajenjo Nieto and Julián AjenjoNieto are willing to push. With aromas of dried apricots, peaches and orange peel, this grape has a lot to offer indeed.
