With previous experience working for other wineries, Maria Burgoa Cobreros and her sister founded family winery Bodega Lar de Maia in 2015. Maia is latin for May, when the bottles their first wine and Lar relates to the terrior. So 5º, 7º and 8º represent the months the bottles were created and each neck contains a small technical description. The grapes they use for the elaboration of their wines are obtained from sustainable vineyards. They are worked in a natural way to preserve their essence and main characteristics. Most of the grapes come from centenary vineyards which makes the quality of the wines excellent. In addition, between the vineyards there are plots where different types of cereals are grown, thus maintaining a unique ecosystem in the area that makes the grapes from this land even more special. The concept of the winery is to elaborate Vino de Pago so the harvests are limited and controlled. Lar de Maía is committed to preserving the environment, allowing them to obtain the best quality for their wines.

Vinification: initial manual selection in the vineyard and second selection in the winery. The grapes are destemmed and, after obtaining the must, it is fermented at a controlled temperature in order to preserve a greater aromatic richness.

Ageing: after fermentation, the wine is left in contact with its lees for five months. Bâtonnage is carried out several times a week in the stainless steel tanks to gain unctuosity and complexity on the palate. Finally, a gentle filtering is made before bottling.
